Week of Local Sanitation Actions in Moldova Dedicated to World Clean-Up Day

The Week of Local Sanitation Actions, dedicated to World Clean-Up Day, was organized in Moldova from September 17 to 20, 2024, as part of the Smart4Rural project. Over 800 participants—including children and educators from six kindergartens, students and teachers from three schools, and representatives from public institutions in Ungheni City, the villages of Costuleni, Semeni, and the commune of Mănoilești—joined together to clean the spaces surrounding their institutions, as well as local squares, parks, and green areas along water sources.

This significant turnout demonstrated a strong community awareness of environmental pollution and the importance of collective action to improve local conditions. Residents expressed their concern for nature and their desire to live in a cleaner, healthier environment.
