Composting Consulting Center
The Composting Consulting Center (CCC) was established within the Smart4Rural project (BSB00464) to promote sustainable waste management, composting practices, and circular economy principles in rural areas of the Black Sea Basin. The Center operates under the coordination of the project partner - Imereti Scientists’ Union “Spectri” (Georgia).
The Center serves as an educational, methodological, and practical hub, providing support to local authorities, farmers, schools, households, and other stakeholders. Its main objectives include raising awareness about the environmental benefits of composting, encouraging household and community-level composting initiatives, and strengthening local capacity for sustainable waste management.
Key activities of the Center include providing expert consultations, organizing trainings and workshops, developing educational materials, supporting pilot composting sites, and facilitating cooperation between local and international partners.
After the completion of the Smart4Rural project, the Composting Consulting Center is expected to continue its activities under the host institution, ensuring long-term sustainability, public access to materials, and ongoing capacity building for green and clean rural development.
